2026 Pottery Classes

Class Duration & Term Structure

  • Adult classes run for 8 weeks, while junior classes span 6 weeks.

  • Each term lasts 9 weeks, with classes beginning in a staggered format over the first two weeks.

Term 1

26th January - 29th March

Enrolments open:

18th January

No classes will be held on the following public holidays :

  • Waitangi day - 6th February (Friday)

Term 2

20th April - 22nd June

Enrolments open:

22nd March

Enrolments close:

12th April

No classes will be held on the following public holidays :

  • ANZAC Day - 27th April (Monday)

  • King's Birthday - 1st June (Monday)

Term 3

20th July - 20th September

Enrolments open:

21th June

12th October - 13th December​

Enrolments open:

13th September

Enrolments close:

4th October

Pottery classes

Immerse yourself in the world of pottery with our engaging classes for both adults and children. We offer a variety of wheel, hand-building, and sculpture classes, along with a special school holiday programme for kids.

No club membership is required to join—everyone is welcome! All classes are held in our welcoming and well-equipped pottery club rooms, where creativity thrives. Each wheel class accommodates 10 participants (or 8 junior potters), while our hand-building and sculpture classes can host 12 students.

How to enrol

Enrolments for new students open a few weeks before each term begins, with available classes listed on our website for registration. Check the term overview below for important dates. Current students receive enrolment details directly via email.

Class fees

Adult classes - 8 weekly sessions

The fees are the same for all adult classes except Advanced Wheel:

  • Non-members - $299

  • Non-members with Community Service Card (CSC) or SuperGold Card (NZS) - $25​9

  • Otaki Pottery Club members - $205

Advanced Wheel fees (3-hour class B26):

  • Non-members - $389

  • Non-members with CSC or NZS card - $349

  • Otaki Pottery Club members - $310

Member fee does not include clay and firing

If you are opting for the reduced fee option, please email a photo of your Community Service Card (CSC) or SuperGold Card (NZS), along with your name and class details, to classesotakipottery@gmail.com.

Hardship grants

If you would like to be considered for a hardship grant, please email classesotakipottery@gmail.com
