Class Description

PREREQUISITE: You must be able to centre and lift a cylinder of approx. 1kg. Welcome to the Intermediate to Advanced Wheel - Intensive throwing course, which is perfect for potters wanting to improve their techniques. This course will be taught by Jenny Turnbull, a highly experienced tutor who has designed the course to stretch your abilities in form and technique. This is an intermediate level class, suited to students who have done beginners classes and can centre and lift a cylinder of approx. 1kg. or have equivalent experience. Students will learn to work with complex and larger forms using specialized tools. They will be encouraged to pursue individual development, focusing on personal designs and expression. The course includes demonstrations as well as individual tuition for students. Students will have the opportunity to glaze their work throughout the term and have help with understanding and developing techniques to improve application and exploring their areas of glaze interest. So, whether you’re a keen amateur potter or wanting to get back into it, this course is suitable for a range of levels and will help you develop new skills, improve your techniques, deepen your practice, and give you time and space you need to work towards throwing larger works on the wheel. Full Refund: Granted if OPC cancels a course. Withdrawal Refunds: 80% refund for cancellations made more than 7 days before the class starts (20% retained for administrative costs). No refund if cancelled during the week before the class starts.
